Sports betting in New Jersey

A majority of Supreme Court justices appear to agree that prohibiting sports betting is unconstitutional.  If legalized sports betting is passed in New Jersey it would generate more than $173 million in additional tax revenue and see the creation of more than 3600 jobs (according to a study from Oxford Economics).  This would be HUGE for Atlantic City. The high court is expected to rule this summer.

The Hard Rock

This coming summer Hard Rock is expected to open it's casino hotel.  The company is spending $500 million on renovations to the former Taj Mahal Casino.  The project is expected to generate more than 1000 construction jobs and 3000 permanent jobs!

Beach at South Inlet

This $81 million residential complex will feature 250 apartments and help rejuvenate the city's aging housing stock.  Currently under construction and due to be complete this summer!

Stockton University

Stockton has a $220 million 675,000 square foot building currently under construction at the south end of the city that is due to be completed this coming fall.  The property will be the new headquarters for South Jersey Gas and a campus for the university that includes an academic building, housing for more than 500 students and a parking garage.

The owner of Revel (Real estate developer Glenn Straub) just announced he sold the property to Denver based holdings company, Intergrated Properties for $200 million.  The new name of the property will be "Ocean Resort Casino" and is due to open this summer!

The Mega Ferris Wheel

The Steel Pier recently finished construction and opened the $14 million observation wheel.  This awesome attraction stands 227 feet tall and has 40 temperature controlled gondoals that comfortably hold 6 passengers each!  The wheel is a beautiful addition to the Atlantic City skyline.

The Atlantic City Boardwalk Expansion

The longest boardwalk in the world is getting longer!  The Atlantic City boardwalk expansion project is underway and due for completion this spring!  When completed the boardwalk will extend into the Gardner's Basin section of the city!

Besides these large scale projects, smaller project like the ongoing Tennessee Avenue Transformation project and a beer garden on the Boardwalk between South California and South Belmont avenues are set to open this summer!
